I Bought A Crappy DJ Mixtape From Chloe Sevigny in 1994.
In 1994 my friend Gaby and I went on a school sponsored trip from Baltimore to NYC.  We went to the Whitney and then smoked pot from a devil head shaped pipe near the Alice in Wonderland sculpture in Central Park.  Needless to say I got super paranoid and thought everyone in the park was a cop trying to bust me.  We then went to a nearby diner and I bought a tomato sandwich with bacon and lettuce, which is really just a BLT.  It really confused the waiter.
We some how made our way to Lafayette downtown on the metro with the help of some kind dutch tourists.  We some how found our selfs at a store called “Liquid Sky” which catered to the rave/club kid crowd.  We were looking for rare DJ tapes because that was the most interesting thing happening in 1994.  Gaby bought a tape called Mushroom Jazz by Mark Farina which turned out to be a much respected underground classic even to this day.  I bought some really crappy DJ mix tape.  The girl who sold us these tapes was really cute and very charming.  She was also wearing pajamas and seemed to be stoned.  A few months later “Kids” came out and she was in a bunch of magazines that were calling her the “It” girl.
